Angel Gowns

Last year I sent my wedding dress to a wonderful organization, The Angel Gowns Project. They have an amazing team of people that transform dresses into tiny gowns for families who don’t get to bring their babies home.

Today I received them in the mail. I didn’t want to open it and ended up staring at it for the longest time before I could. I knew tears would be my immediate reaction, and even now it’s still hard to make them stop. My plan is to donate them to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, where I was born.

They are precious little gowns, lovingly sewed with a beautiful poem included. But as beautiful as they are, I hope they’re never used. That no family has to go through a loss like that, though I know that’s wishful thinking. So my prayer will be for the sweet babies and their families. For peace and comfort dealing with something unimaginable <3
